We Are What we Think
We are what we think.
All that we are arises with our thoughts,
With our thoughts we make the world …
~ Buddha
Be in charge: with our thoughts we make the world
Regarding this quote, you may be finding it especially difficult right now to feel that you’re in charge of your thoughts.
Aside from your own unique life, around us the UK has uncertainty and frustration *due to ‘Brexit’. And of course, the ‘Global Pandemic’. Pick any country or subject around the world and there is turmoil. Indeed the overall survival of this planet causes alarm.
It can be easy to get bogged down in negative thinking. We are bombarded with information from all directions.
If we have created this current world, through greed and unkindness, then a shift in thinking can equally create a world through love and kindness.
We are responsible for ourselves and the world we create. So keep it simple with these 5 reminders of what you do have the choice over. Choose carefully:
We are what we think – choose well
1 Be loving and kind to yourself. Love and kindness then flows out to others in your life.
2 Notice what you choose to focus on – the beauty or the flaws.
3 Make praise and gratitude more familiar in your thoughts as you go about your day
4 Check out habits that can really get under your skin and don’t help your mental state. Manage how much News and Social Media intrude into your life.
5 Sit for 10 minutes in stillness and silence – make it a daily necessity.
If you can incorporate some of these ideas on a daily basis you will start to notice how ‘we are what we think’ is in your control.
