Perfection is imperfection

Of course, with all our imperfections, each of us is unique. Our perfection is in being ourselves. So this is just a reminder – when you feel invisible, too wrinkly, not clever enough, not successful enough. Generally not enough and woefully short of perfect. Remember this is perfection. We are all imperfectly perfect. With all the ups and downs, positives and negatives, blemishes and aging.

If you waited to be perfect you wouldn’t leave your house. I am an imperfect/perfect Mindfulness teacher. Many of us are imperfect/perfect parents. We are all imperfect/perfect humans.

And anyway, who’s judging? What is this ‘perfection’ that runs rife across our society?

When I go out into a beautiful spring day it’s my choice to enjoy it. Or I could be cross about the cold breeze, or notice I must do some weeding in my garden. To me, the big picture is perfect. Especially when a robin joins me on a nearby branch or I hear a snatch of blackbird song. These are perfect brief moments in a perfect experience.

The perfect time for mindfulness

You may be fed up with this world of shallow judgments. You may feel angry, anxious or low.
