Want More Sparkle in your Life?
Do you sometimes feel you need more sparkle in your life?
Your ‘sparkle’ is your enthusiasm and open-heartedness. Sometimes it feels like that glow has been lost. It’s a reminder to connect back to your own inner light.
The Light Within You!
‘Namaste!’
This sacred greeting means ‘the light in me greets the light in you.’
It’s a lovely reminder of the deeper, more meaningful connection we can make with one another. It goes deeper than the superficial labels of designer clothes, job title, where you live or skin colour.
‘Namaste’ acknowledges the special uniqueness that each of us carries within.
You have your own sparkle for life! Sometimes this can dim when life becomes too busy. Or you’ve lost your way.
More Sparkle in your Life During Winter
Here in the Northern Hemisphere, December brings us the darker evenings.
Yet we’re surrounded by light!
Glittering high street illuminations, Christmas tree lights, shop window extravaganzas and candles. They all create magic and light up the dark evenings.
Light a Candle
Advent candles provide a chance to bring a thoughtful anticipation to the coming weeks of Christmas.
And candlelight in general is not brash or overwhelming. It’s gentle flame can contain as much meaning as you wish.
Lighting a candle can be for:
- hope
- peace
- a prayer
- in honour of someone
- a celebration
I tend to start each of my meditation classes with the lighting of tea-light candles.
We each set our intention for the session so we can bring significant meaning to what we’re doing. Lighting a candle can be the cue for it all to begin.
Set your Intention
We often rush headlong into our daily lives. A lovely idea is to set your intention at the start of each day. It can be something simple like: ‘I’d like to be as mindful in each moment as I can.‘
This means you are clear about your direction and purpose. Your intention lights the way.
Each time you set your intention, imagine you are switching up the brightness in your heart. Then anything you do will come from the sparkle and light of an open heart space.
Know that little light of yours? Let it shine!
‘Light illuminates dark and gloom, bringing hope and inspiration.’

This time of year is naturally more mindful, as the long dark nights allow for more peaceful moments in solitude.
Absolutely! Thank you for sharing this Kate.
I love candles and at the moment I have my log fires going – lots of gorgeous flames to lose myself in
I love log fires too. The flames are very hypnotic! Thank you for sharing Jacqui.
Lovely post. It’s so important to set our intentions and you know I’m going to be singing at the top of my voice all day long now “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine….”
Thank you Wendy, enjoy your singing and your shining!
