Know that You are Lovable

You are lovableA paper heart, bouquet of flowers or box of chocolates aren’t necessary signs that you’re lovable. Being in a one-to-one relationship with another person is not the highest bench-mark that you are worthy and ‘normal’. You have goodness in your heart and you’re entirely worthy of love. Your personality, thoughts and feelings are wondrous and endearing. You are completely glorious. You are lovable.

If you have travelled to places like India, you might have heard of the sacred greeting ‘Namaste’. Instead of saying ‘hello’, this greeting means, ‘My inner light greets your inner light.’ Every single one of us has this innate higher self, beautiful and glowing. No questions about that! The outer disguises of your unique physicality, your choice of clothes, your culture, the job you do, the relationships you have; these don’t affect your inner self.

So whatever your life looks like, and perhaps it’s messy or grey right now, know that you’re lovable. Even when you don’t feel it. Even when there’s no-one saying it to you. Say it to yourself.

You are Lovable

Positive affirmations you can remind yourself of:

I am a lovable person just for being who I am right now.
It’s safe for me to share who I really am with others.
I value myself.
I am cherished.

And of course, if you do have family and friends in your life that you love, don’t forget to tell them, now!

This post inspired by ‘Daily Guidance from Your Angels‘ by Doreen Virtue. The term ‘angels’ as the term ‘God’, can be interpreted in any way that feels right for you.

Worth looking up: Kristen Neff has a useful website here where she focuses on Self-compassion, Meditations & Self-compassion exercises.

Lots of love,
