Accommodation near Place of Serenity

This is a fabulous area which has now been given status as the South Downs National Park. It is especially popular with walkers and cyclists as we have popular spots such as the South Downs Way. It does mean that accommodation needs to be booked well in advance. The following may be of help:

Coulters Dean Nature Reserve
A small woodland and chalk grassland reserve which is a refuge for many scarce plants and butterflies. Park at the pond in Buriton for this walk. The site is open access all year round. A bridle way runs through the reserve into Forestry Commission woodland, which links to the South Downs Way. The Sustainability Centre,  East Meon 
This centre was set up by the charity Earthworks, to 'Demonstrate, develop and promote knowledge, skills, technologies and lifestyles that improve peoples' qualify of life without damaging the local and global environment.’

 

Local lavender farm which is open to the public during the flowering season in July. Their lavender shop, selling their products, is open every day of the week. They are located on the Selborne Road, ideal to combine with a trip to Gilbert White’s House and Gardens in the picturesque village of Selborne. See link for details:
