Yoga of Sound

Opening the heart through sound with truth, love and compassion

with Russell Stone

Yoga of Sound workshops take place on the first and third Saturday of every month.  Both are at Place of Serenity from 10.00-12.00 midday. £10 a session.

There will be two Yoga of Sound groups running at Place of Serenity.
Group 1 – 1st Saturday of the month (10:00am-12:00pm): The emphasis will be on spiritual transformation, with longer group Sounding and shorter group dialogue. This group does not need the same level of commitment as is the case below, it can continue in the same way the groups have been run up to now, with people dipping in and out.

Group 2 – 3rd Saturday of the month (10:00am-12:00pm): The emphasis will be on emotional growth, with shorter group Sounding and longer group, therapeutic dialogue. For this group to be held in a truly safe, confidential way the group members need to be constant with a commitment given to attend, once a month over a given period, say a year. Life happens of course, and valid reasons for not attending will arise, but a personal commitment is necessary. This does not mean that people cannot join the group, if they are willing to commit, but it does prevent people from coming and going, from just dipping in.

In these workshops you will discover an exciting way to connect with your inner being through the voice. Russell will take you through a session of Yoga Nidra, enabling you to connect deeply with yourself and then when connected, he will take you on a path to explore your own sound with love (Yoga Nada). This process has been developed through MA research as Sound Recovery TherapyTM, a way to contribute to your sense of wellbeing.

Through engaging with this sound you will be taught to access techniques for:

  • Identifying and learning to cope with negative, habitual thought patterns
  • Calming the mind
  • Nourishing creativity and spontaneity
  • Moving beyond the ego
