'Meditation is the practice of going inward to access awareness that is deeper than thought ... you are returning to your source.' From 'The Deeper Wound' by Deepak Chopra
'We do not hear the sun rise. So, too, the greatest moment in a man's life comes quietly. In that stillness alone is born the knowledge of the Overself.' Paul Brunton quote from 'The Silent Path' by Michal J.Eastcot
To be in the present we must let go of our stories, self-identities and projections and be with the reality as it is. At Place of Serenity you are invited to share in our tranquil and gentle setting. Meditation sessions are kept simple, available to all. By making a commitment to yourself to spend some time on meditation, you are opening up to your own powerful and shining self. It allows you to stand back from the outside - from your personality bubble, the brain's workings, the mind's constant babble, the same old stories playing in your head, the cycle of relationship issues. It's a chance to check in to your truths. By meeting with others in a place such as this, it helps support you and lifts your whole being. Meditation is certainly something you can do by yourself, and yet by coming along to sessions here can contribute to your sense of peace and connection to others.
Meditation can take many forms. Here at Place of Serenity there are a number of ways in which you can find your inner space/peace/serenity/connection to source or your true essence.

Meditating at home
If you wish to spend some time for yourself at home, in peace and solitude, choose a place in your home that you always use. You can set it up comfortably with seating that suits you, perhaps pictures and statues for inspiration, and a candle to light as you set your intention to spend a few minutes on your own inner peace. This can then become your sacred space and the more you use it for meditation and quiet contemplation, the more you build up the energy vibrations in that place.
