This is from Michal Levin's book 'Spiritual Intelligence' and I'm really thinking about this at the moment.
'A large part of life is a search for meaningful relationships. There is no problem about meeting the 'right' people. Those you meet are right. That means that you always have something to learn from those who cross your path. Whether you need to learn it from being with them, or conversely whether you need to experience the growth involved in learning why you can't or must not be with them. But first you have to recognise 'the point of the others you meet.'
I think we are all like multi-faceted diamonds and we each see something of another's shining self, and hope that they see ours. Can we polish ourselves up or is it a natural beauty? I'd like to think the latter.
